Tom Vickroy and Jerry Adkins met in 2014. Over the course of the next year or so Tom and Jerry (not affiliated with the cartoon) discussed what they intended to do upon retirement.
After several discussions and some investigation they decided upon aquaponics. They had a dream that once they could make a viable aquaponic system, they would try and assist returning citizens back into society. At the same time provide educational opportunity for local children to learn about various farming methods.

During the growing period and evaluation of the first system, Jerry and Tom focused on the next step, a small 10 acre farm. After purchasing the 10 acres they began to move the aquaponic system to the farm.
They are constantly evaluating the design to make changes as issues arise or as a better way becomes apparent.
